Messages from 2SM
Today is Friday and almost 3 weeks since Papa died. Early today I received a call from Mike Gibson, one of the radio announcers who worked at 2SM with dad all those years ago in the 1970's, to offer his condolences. Mr Gibson as I remember him as a boy showed just why both my parents always spoke kindly of him. It was nice to see that old colleagues from 2SM where he worked for 20 years remembered him enough to take time out to pass on their memories. We also received a nice message from Ian MacRay earlier in the month. Ian was another of the top rating announcers at 2SM in it's hay day when it consistently roped the ratings in Sydney. Dad often mentioned Mike and Ian and some other announcers in conversations I had with him over the years. The 2SM days were very special for him and the messages of support and memories offered have been much welcomed.

Katoomba getaway
We have taken a short two day weekend away to the blue mountains, Katoomba.
This is the view from the breakfast table.
Today Mel and I intend going over to Leura to wander through the shops, visit the three sisters and maybe stop over at scenic world for a bush walk and ride down the steepest railway in the world.
